What's new on Bike Rental Manager

Hi folks,

this is advanced notice that in early 2025 we'll be finally retiring the delete Reservation feature.

Don't forget, we will still have the cancel Reservation feature, which we feel should be a much better alternative in all cases.

Why are we doing this?

1. Having delete causes more problems than it solves:
1. the feature has been abused - it was only intended to delete training reservations, with no financial transactions having been recorded.
2. losing a record of something significant that happened on your system.
3. broken links to things like transactions.
4. accidental deletions - and no way to un-delete
5. creating gaps in your sequence numbers (invoices, reservations) for the authorities
2. There is a whole framework already in place around cancel reservation (e.g. soft-delete; cancel filters, zero out prices, finding old ones if necessary, un-cancel etc) 

If you feel strongly that there is some reason why we should keep delete reservation or there is something we have missed please let us know by replying to this Beamer or sending a ticket to support with a suitable title relating to 'delete reservation feature'.
