If you host all your projects on the same domain, you'll want to read this, promise. :)
We've just released an update to our browser extension that greatly improves the way we match your BugHerd Projects to the URL you're viewing.
Why is that interesting?
Well, for some of you who host lots of different sites on the same domain, you might have noticed that sometimes your tasks ended up in the wrong project. Super confusing and very frustrating when it happened, we know.
What do we mean by multiple sites on the same domain?
For agencies, you might host client sites on the same staging server, something like the example below.
For e-commerce stores, maybe you have different sites for different countries, for example.
Or for online course providers, all your courses probably live on the same domain, something like this.
Any of these examples used to be problematic for the BugHerd browser extension, but not anymore.
What do I need to do? Nothing, your browser extension should update automatically.
Of course, if you have any questions, or run into any problems. Please feel free to get in-touch in the comments below.

Does something about the Kanban board feel a bit different today?
As you may have noticed, the columns on the Kanban board are now a fixed width in preparation for the release of our new "Custom Columns" feature. 🎉
While it's a small visual difference there's actually a whole bunch of changes we've made under the hood with this update.
If you have any issues, or something isn't working quite right for you, please let us know by commenting below or emailing us on firstname.lastname@example.org.

Sorry that things have been a bit quiet in terms of feature releases lately.
Our entire team are super busy working on adding a BIG new feature, “Custom columns”.😲
This will mean you can finally add/remove/rename columns on your Kanban board. This is by far the most requested feature from you all and a huge piece of work, but we’re super excited to be finally able to deliver it for you.
Custom columns will be coming early in the new year so stay tuned!
Also, if you’d like to help beta test custom columns prior to release, please reply to this message and we’ll contact you in the new year.
Thanks again for being fantastic people, and happy holidays!🎄🍸

We've updated our Chrome & Firefox browser extensions; new features include...
To see it in action, take a look at this quick video of the new experience.
You might have noticed in the last few days we've released an updated version of our browser extension. It's been a change we've been wanting to make for a long long time now, and finally, we've had the opportunity to do it.
Something we've heard regularly in your feedback is that, on occasion, it could be difficult to get the BugHerd sidebar to appear. The sidebar would just not show sometimes, and when it didn't appear, it was really difficult to understand why.
It turns out that this was usually to do with a few common reasons/errors but there was no way for you, as a BugHerd user, to easily understand why and how you could fix the problem.
With our latest update to the browser extension, we hope to make this much, much simpler.
Our browser extension now displays its state making it super clear when something isn't quite right. The image below shows the various states in which the icon can appear.
On the occasion something does go wrong, clicking the browser extension will give you simple error message to help you understand the problem & fix it.
3. See which project you're reporting bugs to
Now, by clicking on the extension when BugHerd has successfully loaded, you can see which project the sidebar will report bugs any new bugs to.
Finally, when you click on the extension icon, it will give you more information depending on which of the above states it is in. So if you're having trouble getting the sidebar to appear, just click on the extension to see why. In this example, BugHerd couldn't load because you're not currently logged-in, so the extension will display a login message.
There's a whole bunch of other changes we've made under the hood but we won't bore you with the details.
So, how do I know if I've got the new version?
You should see that the extension browser icon has changed (it's now the "BH" logo). This should have automagically happened but if you're still seeing the old version, try the following...
We hope you enjoy the updates, and as always, if you've got any feedback please do let us know via the comment box below or contacting email@example.com.
