What's new on IELTS with Fiona

After seeing so much rubbish advice on Instagram and Facebook, I decided to spend more time exploring LinkedIn.

Sadly I still find the same amount of claptrap (= nonsense).

Take this post, for example, which advises IELTS students to stop reading.

What a complete load of garbage and bad English in almost every word. This is what happens if we stop reading!

‘On the contrary’ is one of the most wrongly used linkers, and I recommend totally avoiding it.

‘whereas’ is the correct linker here if it’s going to make any sense (though it’s still a load of baloney!).
