You always get 3 Multiple Choice options in the IELTS Listening Test.
The 'distractors' (the ones that distract you from the correct answer) often use the same words e.g.
Distractor a) ...had no experience of living in a rural area.
The listening says: 'They’d both grown up in a rural area'.
In this example, they use the exact words 'in a rural area' to distract you.
You still need a good knowledge of synonyms to help you understand that this is the WRONG answer - 'grow up' is one of my key IELTS words - see tomorrow's post!
