I was reading this article about reintroducing the lynx in Scotland this morning. The title is:
'The lynx may have survived in Scotland centuries later than previously thought, new study suggests'
and it reminded me of an IELTS text that you might have read already on my website (I'm not sure - I'm guessing - have you read it?)
I chose this article as it's a perfect example of the kind of reading you need to do to improve your vocabulary, grammar and general knowledge for the IELTS test.
Lots of IELTS texts refer to RESEARCH and they often have to MAKE GUESSES about the past.
- might/may/could have + 3rd form (to show that you're not sure)
- must/can't have + 3rd form (to show that you're sure)
This is very sophisticated, complex and useful grammar so
1) read my blog about Bring back the big cats
2) review Modals of deduction
