⛔️ Danger words: 'in case of'

We are all so used to seeing 'in case of' on signs like this:

But the expression is often misused when students want to introduce new information.

Here’s a mistake I found on a popular website:

‘In case of female students, there was a consistent increase in the given time period'.

Correction:

  • Regarding the female students…’
  • When it comes to female students…’
  • As for female students…’
  • With regard to female students…’

I think that students confuse "In case of" with "In THE case of', which has an entirely different meaning.
