What's new on IELTS with Fiona

I discovered this free and useful tool today.

Ludwig.guru is my go-to place to check grammar and collocations etc.

But this looks great too.

Somebody on YouTube asked me the difference between:

• "I wish I could pass IELTS"
• "I hope I'll pass IELTS"

The simple answer is that a WISH is about NOW (or the PAST), and a HOPE is about the FUTURE.

corpusmate.com shows us the 2 most common patterns

1. I wish I could + verb (e.g. I can't swim - I wish I could swim)

2. I wish I'd + pp (e.g. I didn't bring my laptop - I wish I had brought my laptop)
