Today's tip is about phrasal nouns that come from phrasal verbs.
A World-Cup related example is:
"What time is kick-off?" (meaning "What time does the match start/kick off?")
The verb is 'to kick off' and the noun is 'kick-off'.
But where's the stress?
Like most 2-syllable nouns, the stress is on the first syllable of the phrasal noun: "KICK off".
But like most phrasal verbs, the stress is on the preposition: "Kick OFF".
