'Such' as a reference word
'Such' is a useful reference word that you can use to refer BACK to something you just mentioned.
This is a fantastic way of avoiding repetition, especially in the Writing Test.
It's also a 'less common' linking word, which will help you increase your score for Coherence and Cohesion.
Look an example sentence taken from the Quiz below.
Electric vehicles and autonomous driving systems have revolutionized the transportation sector. Such innovations can reduce carbon emissions and enhance road safety.
'Such innovations' refers BACK to the 2 innovations you just mentioned (electric vehicles and autonomous driving systems).
The meaning of 'such' here is 'this kind of' or 'these kinds of'.
