What's new on IELTS with Fiona

I found this Task 1 model answer for my Sunday Task 1 Writing Session today.

Looks good doesn't it?

But look a bit more closely.

Out of a total 157 words, 45 (just under a third) of them (underlined) are almost directly taken from the image or task.

It's difficult to avoid this in Task 1. One easy way is to simply take all the labels "Harvesting" "Selecting" "Washing" "Sorting" etc and put them in the Passive Tense. e.g.

• The apples are harvested/selected/washed/sorted etc.
• The juice is filtered/pasteurized/bottled etc
