Before you commit to a reorder quantity, click any variant row in the forecast to open its demand chart. The chart is scoped to the location you're planning for and to the historical period you've selected — it reflects exactly what the recommendation is based on.
What the chart shows:
- Historical sales — actual units sold per week for the selected variant and location, over the selected historical period.
- Stockout periods marked — weeks where the variant was stocked out are visually indicated. If "Ignore stockouts" is enabled, those excluded weeks are highlighted distinctly so you can see what was left out of the average.
- Projected future demand — the forecast line extending forward from the last historical week.
- Projected stock position — how on-hand stock is expected to deplete week by week against forecast demand.
- Incoming PO quantities — existing open POs land on their expected receipt weeks so you can see where incoming supply intersects the demand curve.
- Forecast-generated required receipt — the recommended receipt quantity and timing, shown as a distinct series from existing POs.
- First projected shortage week — called out explicitly so you know exactly where the gap opens.
If there is no historical sales data for the variant, the chart still renders available forecast and projection data and shows a clear empty-history message rather than a blank panel.
The chart is read-only in V1 — adjustments are made in the parameters panel, not on the chart directly.
The default historical period when you open a chart is the last 12 completed weeks, matching the forecast parameters default.
