Shift-Based Sales Summary with 80mm Printable Report for POS
Under Review
June 11, 2025
Introduce a Shift Mode in the POS where:
A user can start and end a shift manually (with timestamp logging)
At the end of the shift, the system calculates total sales, categorized by payment type, and generates an itemized summary of all sold items
This summary is then automatically printed on an 80mm receipt printer, providing a physical copy for quick reconciliation with the available cash
Benefits:
Improves accuracy and transparency in cash handling
Enables shift-level performance analysis and accountability
Speeds up shift closure and reduces end-of-day workload
Enhances the system’s value for restaurants operating in multiple shifts
Why This Matters:
This small but powerful change would make TableTrack far more operator-friendly, especially for restaurant owners who rely on shift-based staff and need physical summaries to cross-check sales versus cash in hand. It’s a highly practical feature that mirrors real-world operational needs.
