Hello, Vetspirians! This week, we are introducing new features for creating recurring provider schedules and tailoring immunization reports to the recipient. Additionally, we’re releasing improvements to NOVA, encounters, and product settings.
Create Recurring Provider Schedules
We have added the ability for admin users to create recurring provider schedules in your location scheduling settings!
This update makes it easier to keep providers' schedules up-to-date and saves you time spent manually updating each provider’s availability one day at a time.
How It Works
Go to More > Admin > Locations and select the location you want to edit.
In the Scheduling section, select Edit> Edit Schedules to open the calendar window.
Select a date on the calendar to open the Create a schedule window.
Set the Frequency as Weekly. This gives you the option to select which days of the week the provider is available.
Set the Start and End Dates of the recurring schedule. You can add an End Date that is months (or even years!) into the future.
Select Create.
By default, the day of the week you selected in Step 3 is selected in the Repeat On field.
To delete a recurring schedule or an instance (a single day) from the calendar, select the provider’s name on the date you want to remove, then select d on your keyboard.
This allows you to make changes to recurring schedules as needed without removing the provider’s entire schedule, such as when the provider goes on vacation.
Recurring schedules display an indicator on the calendar, helping you see at-a-glance which schedules are part of a recurring sequence.
Specify Immunizations Included in Exported Records
In Patient Chart > Immunizations, you can now specify which immunizations you want included in a downloaded or emailed immunization report!
This enhancement allows you to customize immunization reports for the recipient. For example, a referral partner may request a patient’s full immunization history, but a boarding facility may only want to know the patient’s up-to-date immunizations.
How It Works
In Patient Chart > Immunizations, select the Download Immunizations Record button to open the new Export Immunizations window.
By default, the patient’s most current immunizations (immunizations with a future due date) are selected. From this window, you can specify the recipients in the Email Address field, then select Email Immunizations. Alternatively, select Download Immunizations to save a PDF copy of the report.
Improvements
NOVASheets: A new calendar widget in NOVASheets makes it easier to navigate to specific dates, supporting longer patient stays. Previously, the date drop-down menu allowed you to select one date in the future at a time. You can still use the arrows beside the date to navigate to one day in the future or one day in the past.
NOVABoard: You can now access a patient’s chart by selecting their name in the first column of the NOVABoard. Additionally, when you select a cell in NOVABoard, a link to the patient’s NOVASheet is now included with their list of treatments due within the hour.
Automation Triggers: In More > Admin > Automate > Triggers, a new ‘If’ trigger event is available: patient document uploaded. This event triggers the configured ‘then’ action when a document is uploaded in Patient Chart or an encounter.
Plumb’s Pro is now Standards™! We’ve updated our UI to match the new branding of Standards of Care (formerly known as Plumb’s Pro) where this integration displays in our system. The integration works the same – select the Standards™ logo from Global Navigation to access the Standards of Care database. The Standards™ branding also displays:
in Patient Chart in the Problem List (right panel)
in the Standards Clinical Monograph window (formerly known as the Plumb’s Dx & Tx Monograph)
in the Share section of the encounter footer when sharing Standards™ handouts with clients
Bug Fixes
Anesthesia & Vitals Monitoring in Encounter: A system message now displays when you select to Clear all data in a monitoring section: “Are you sure you would like to ‘Clear’ data in all monitor sections? All monitoring data will be lost.” This helps prevent data loss in the UI.
Price Changes Tool (Admin): We fixed a bug in More > Admin > Tools > Price Changes that displayed a system error and prevented users from saving a new price change.
Sign Encounters: We fixed a bug that prevented users from signing encounters when all required fields in the encounter were completed.
Task Due Dates: Task due dates now display according to your local time zone. Previously, the system stored task due dates in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), which caused tasks to sometimes display a future due date.
Product Events Change Log: In More > Inventory & Services > Manage > Products, the Events change log for a product now correctly displays when a product category tag is updated.
NOVASheet Progress Notes: We fixed a bug that caused Progress Notes to display with HTML formatting:
in the right panel of NOVASheet after editing the note
in NOVASheet Summary PDFs that include Progress Notes
User Role Permission for Editing Product Price: Users can no longer edit a product price in the product settings when the permission to Edit products' prices is disabled for their user role.
Immunization Next Due Date: In Patient Chart > Immunizations, we fixed a bug that caused the options A Month Ago and In a Month to display multiple times in the Update Immunization window when editing the Next Due Date. The options in this field now display according to the configured Unit Duration in the product settings.
Open Invoices for Inactive Patients: When adding a product or service to a client’s open invoice in Patient Chart > Billing, the system now displays an inactive or deceased indicator for inactive and deceased patients. (Note: Products and services can only be added to an existing open invoice for deceased patients. New invoices cannot be created for deceased patients.)
