A HEAT ADVISORY remains in effect from 10:00 AM through 07:00 PM on Sunday.
Heat index values of up to 108 degrees are expected.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 911!

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre is asking for the public’s help in locating 15-year-old Cameron Morales of Highland Oaks in Gray.
He was last seen just before 1 p.m. on July 22, 2021, when he left his residence without permission after an argument with a family member.
Morales is described as 6’6” tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and shorts, with Nike sneakers. He was wearing a baseball cap, and a back pack.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 532-2808, or simply dial 911.
