I was doing some research to help my members answer questions on the topic of CAKES.
I found this list of "40 adjectives to describe the taste of sweets".
Unfortunately, there are NOT many adjectives that describe the TASTE of sweets, so most of these are WRONG (they describe the texture of food, or the sensation when you eat it).
- buttery = it tastes like butter
- chocolatey = it tastes like chocolate
- creamy = it tastes like cream
- fruity = it tastes like fruit
- milky = it tastes like milk
- minty = it tastes like mint
- nutty = it tastes like nuts
- refreshing (?) = the taste refreshes you
- rich (?) = highly seasoned, fatty, oily, or sweet
- sharp (?) = a taste which is quite acrid (acidic) and/or sour, like lemons
- smooth = pleasant, not strong or bitter, often used to describe coffee (not sweet food?)
- sour (?) = having a sharp, sometimes unpleasant, taste or smell, like a lemon, and not sweet
- tangy (?) = pleasantly strong and sharp, like lemons
