Don't do this in your IELTS Writing Task 2 Introduction

Many IELTS tutors on social media and YouTube recommend that you 'rewrite the question' as your first line in the introduction.

I saw this example yesterday of why I think this advice is NOT going to get you Band 7.

When you just 'replace' words in the question, the synonyms are very often WRONG.

'Individuals' is NOT the right synonym for 'people' in this context.

'Opine' is NOT the right synonym for 'think' or 'believe' in this context and should be banned from your vocabulary forever.

The first line is the FIRST IMPRESSION that the examiner gets of your writing.

Don't litter it with rubbish words!
