Opt-In and then unsubscribes

As box office staff are either setting up a new customer, or dealing with a current customer, they are asking them if they would like to reeive our emails, which is good practise. However one little thing that I have noticed is: we use Mailchimp to send out our emails (connected), when a customer unsubs through mailchimp that's fine, but they are then being marked off opt-in on TS, which isn't good from our perspective as when we are asking them we can't see if they had already unsubscribed previously, meaning we don't need to ask them again. Also MC won't let them have an unsub email address in the system. Hoping there's a way that as box office staff rather than asking them and annoying them as they have unsub, that we can see if they have unsub on TS system and this would help our staff not to ask that step. Just something simple to help understand on the TS system that we can see they have asked not for the email.
