Custom Fields on Contacts

Custom contact fields are finally here!

Go to Admin > Account Settings > Custom Fields. You can define custom fields for Contacts and Documents. (You'll need at least a Starter Plan, which will give you 1 custom field of each type. Pro Plans and higher get 4 of each type.)

Define your custom fields. After you save your settings, you'll be able to see the merge field code to pull that custom field into your documents, if you'd like.

For example, suppose you are a lawyer, working with individuals, not companies. To access the address merge fields, you need to use the Customer object, which you don't really need. Now you can define a home address field right on the Contact, and never worry about the Customer.

Then, when you are editing your Contacts, you can add your custom field(s).

Note the Home Address field in the form above.

Note that you can also enter Document custom field data on the Document settings screen. (See below for an example of entering a Start Date.)

Then, in your document content, you can add a {{home_address}} merge field. (You would probably want to do this in your template(s), so it appears in all your subsequent Documents.)

When you or your Contact view the Document, the Home Address entry will appear.

Social Links for contacts

You can store links to LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter profiles for contacts.

You can then pop open those links in a new tab when viewing the contact in Mimiran.

You can also import these fields in the CSV import.

Fields should include the full URL (to make it easier to copy and paste), for example: https://www.linkedin.com/in/janedoe

Tags just got more colorful

You can now add colors to Tags to make it easier to see things at a glance.

Update: now this even works when selecting tags.

UI Updates

The user interface gets a little polishing to make things fresher and easier on the eyes.

You'll notice that your logo doesn't appear on most pages. Don't worry, your contacts will still see it when they look at your content (and you can see it when you Preview content).

This makes room for more useful information, including notifications of contact activities, an upcoming placeholder for tasks (much more coming here), putting the "What's New" feed that you're reading now in the main navbar (many people have complained that it was hard to know what was new because this feature was hidden away).

Speaking of making things easier on the eyes, you can enable Dark Mode from your profile, if you prefer that look.
